From my experiance – if your intrested in marketing your company, or want to learn how to market “sell” anything you should listen to the audio books.
A great one to start of with is “New York Times – Portable MBA Series – Sales & Marketing”
There are alot of books you can download also but I find it easier just to plug in – and listen.
There’s alot of junk out software, books, audio that’s not worth the price-tag… but if you download something that really helps you – or you feel as if exactly what you wanted please consider making a small donation to that author….. its the best way to say thank you for your hard work.

To answer your question about the best email marketing programs; here are some suggestions:
1. PHPlist is free – it requires quite a bit of technical config however and is really only for those who have the patience to deal with minor programming stuff on an ongoing basis.
I paid my programmer $400.00 to set up because I did not understand PHP – but through the forums I have learned how to use it and customize it quite well over time. Bonuses for this one are: all outgoing emails are free (if you have a host) and the send out amount is limited only by your server bandwith as far as I understand. *This particular product is Open Source; and is usually bundled in Fantastico with CPanel Hosts
2. Mailloop Pro is built by the Internet Marketing Center (which is the lead company in Internet Marketing) offers amazing customization and sequential autoresponders and is available for a one time flat fee – which overtime is the best value. *It does run from your home computer – not your host – so you must have that computer on at all times to ensure you can send and receive everything needed.
3. You can also consider ASP solutions online such as Aweber or Constant Contact for a monthly fee. These offer very similar features to Mailloop but in the long run might cost much more.
