I need to get information to canoe groups and adventure travel agents across the country with out a lot of $$$ going out I am trying to direct traffic to my web site by placing links on as many sites as possible I thought that if I could find a list of email addresses I could send my info out my self. Any ideas?

To have such a list would be called “spam email”…against the law.
The best you can do is hit up blogs, chatrooms, etc that are geared for what you want. (adventure blogs, chatrooms on canoes, etc)
Other method is to pay a company for the info….but that gets past expensive…normally a fee per zip code.
