I’ve heard that the apps available for the g1 is better than the apps available on the iphone because the android market is more flexible which means anyone can make and download an app for free on the g1 compared to the iphone which is owned by a huge company (apple) so the g1 is more user friendly, plus I’ve also heard the iphone ***** for texting, emailing etc compared to g1 which has an actual keyboard….so my question is, is the g1 really better than the iphone?

iPhone is better. Except the QWWERTY keyboard, on the G1, is always a plus. If you are a huge texter than you should probably go with the G1
honestly i think the g1 is a great phone but it still far behind the iPhone. The iPhone is as of right now is probably the best in my opinion but over time the g1 could rival the iPhone if not beat it.
I work with both the G1 and the iPhone, and I’d have to agree with your assessment. The G1 has a good keyboard, and has lots of apps (many are free thanks to the open-source Android market). The iPhone is a bit touchy, and a LOT more fragile than the G1. The G1 isn’t as “sleek” as the iPhone, but if the phone’s going to break the first time you breathe wrong on it, what good is it?? I’d go with the G1, given what I know.
ugh. everybody loves the frickin iphone. get the G1. it has all the capabilities of a iphone but with a coolio swivel screen and full botton keyboard
